Earthlings, there is no better way to be green and make money than by collecting aluminum cans. We are amazed how DIDIOT some humans are by throwing away their cans instead of recycling.
Unless you are from another planet, you have seen the incredible rise in the price of commodities such as oil, gold, iron, steel and our favorite, aluminum.
Earthlings, do not be ashamed to go out and collect cans for money during recession. If you are self-conscious, wear a T-shirt with the name of some environmentally-friendly organization so they think you are working to save the planet. Do not worry. We will not tell anyone that you are really trying to save your Earthling behind by collecting aluminum cans and reselling them.
If you have a family, make a game out of collecting cans. This can be entertainment that makes money rather than costing money. Collecting cans also allows
Earthlings to get exercise while saving the planet. You call that a triple play in baseball and hat trick in soccer.
In Brazil, hundreds of thousand of Earthlings collect cans for a living. If they can do it, you can do it. In the United States of America, $500 million worth of aluminum cans goes into landfills per year. Earthlings are throwing away money. Those cans should be recycled.
Earthlings, aluminum is the most recycled beverage container. When a can is recycled, it can become part of a new can within 60 days.
There is no limit to the number of times an aluminum can may be recycled, unless you have a Didiot throwing the can in a trashcan. American earthlings use over 80 billion aluminum soda cans every year.
Good reasons to collect cans during Recession:
Save Energy: Each
pound of aluminum recycled saves the aluminum industry enough energy to
generate 7.5 kilowatt-hours of electricity. Be green and help your
country during recession.
Help the Economy: Recycling cans has
created 30,000 new jobs in recycling centers, aluminum companies and
transportation support industries.
Collect Cash: Each aluminum can you bring to a
recycling center puts over a penny into your pocket.
Fun Facts*:
- American Earthlings throw away enough aluminum every three months to replace every commercial airplane in the U.S.
- Tossing away an aluminum can wastes as much energy as pouring out half of that can's volume of gasoline.
- Enough aluminum cans were recycled last year to fill a hollow Empire State Building 24 times
- The 62.6 billion cans recycled last year alone would make 171 circles around the earth at its equator.
- Some 119,482 cans are recycled every minute nationwide.
- Over the past 10 years, the number of aluminum cans recycled has doubled.
- More than one million tons of aluminum containers and packaging are thrown away each year.
- The average employee consumes 2.5 cans of soda each day at work.
- Recycling 1 ton of aluminum saves the equivalent in energy of 2,350 gallons of gasoline. This is equivalent to the amount of electricity used by the average home over a period of 10 years.
- If one company, with 5,000 employees recycled all the cans they consume at work, one home could be built a year.
- The aluminum industry pays approximately $1 billion annually to recyclers. That money alone could help build 22,500 homes a year for families in need.
- Recycling one aluminum can saves enough energy to run a television for three hours.
- By using recycled aluminum instead of virgin ore, aluminum manufactures save enough energy needed to supply electricity to a city the size of Pittsburgh for about six years!
- Since 1972, Americans Earthlings have earned over $25 billion by recycling aluminum beverage cans, an equivalent of 16 million tons of aluminum cans. These 785.6 billion aluminum cans placed end-to-end could stretch to the moon more than 249 times.
- If 2,750 households in your community recycle four aluminum cans a
day, they can build a home for a family in need in just one
year.

Earthlings, there is saying, "A penny saved is a penny earned." When it comes to cans, we can apply the same logic and say, "A can recycled is a penny earned."
