Earthlings, do not spend $150 to $400 on a dress or outfit you will wear only one time to a special party or on a date. We aliens think that is a DIDIOT thing to do during the recession.
When you purchase a new garment, always calculate the "cost per wear" for that item. For example.
$100 Blue Jeans / 200 wears = 50 pennies per wear
$100 Evening Gown / 2 wears = $50 per wear
You can easily see, based on these calculations that the blue jeans are a good investment, but the dress is not.
We have several ways for you to save money and still wear nice, beautiful garments during the recession.
Share clothing with your friends. Simply find a friend who is you shape and size. Humans tend to befriend other humans who are similar in height and weight so this is easy.
Invite your friend to your closet, and offer your favorite and nicest
dresses for him or her to wear when they have a big event to attend.
They will let you wear one of their own best outfits in return. It is
like having
a new dress or suit at no cost. This is a very smart
recession move. Be sure to dry-clean the item before you return it to
your friend.
Buy used. Go to a vintage or used clothing store or purchase on eBay. You can find the designer fashions you dream of at bargain prices.
Rent a designer purse. You can lease that Louis Vuitton or Gucci handbag, if you must have one during recession to maintain your image. Rent a handbag for $6.00 per week and up at BagBorroworSteal.com. Rent for a while then simply return it.
Zork's tips for human males: You can also trade sports shirts for awhile, especially if your home sports teams are having a losing season. We have seen professional soccer players trade shirts after a game, and we think it is a good plan for other men as well. Or trade T-shirts. For special events, males can trade tuxedos, accessories, and the fancy shoes. How often do you really use your tuxedo, Mr. Human?
Sharing clothing saves money in other ways. You will be green like us, because you
will not use gasoline driving to the mall. And it is easier to get through the recession if you avoid the mall completely.
