We all want to live comfortably in our house, so our duty includes maintaining it as best as we can. Every day, we do different chores to keep everything in good shape. If you live alone in an apartment, then it would be easy for you to manage these tasks. But if you have a big family, home maintenance might be challenging. The good thing is that if you have a detailed plan, you can divide the tasks. So, we’re sharing with you a chore list that you can follow.  

Household Chore List

Daily Chore List 

You can lessen the number of tasks you will do if you do it daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annually. So, for the daily task:  

Dusting –  to obviously remove the everyday dust 

Sweeping – to keep the floor clean 

Vacuuming – to remove debris and other dirt from the carpet 

Washing dishes – assign children to wash the plates every after meals 

Feeing pets – this is a fun task, so you can assign these to the kids 

Doing laundry – if you do this daily, your laundry won’t pile up 

Cleaning bathrooms – to make sure that the bathroom doesn’t have too much bacteria  

Weekly Chores 

There are chores that you can do weekly, because you can save time and energy by doing so. Here are the chores:  

Washing bedding – so everyone can have fresh, and clean new sheets each week 

Mopping floors – you can convert it into daily task, but if there’s not much foot traffic, you can do this weekly 

Watering plants – there are plants that don’t need watering everyday 

Mowing the lawn – grass can grow a few centimeters each week so cut them off to maintain the recommended grass height 

Weeding the garden – do this at least once a week to keep the garden healthy 

Taking out trash – if you designate trash cans each room, take them out at the end of the week 

Wash the car – cars need maintenance too, and one of it is to wash them weekly  

Monthly Chores 

Other complicated tasks can be done monthly. You can also hire a professional if you don’t have the time. The tasks are the following:  

Washing windows – to keep get rid of the dirt and grime that needs to be cleaned off 

Clean refrigerator – frost can build up inside, which affects the set temperature inside so make sure you check your fridge and clean it once a month 

Change air filters on AC – the air conditioning unit also needs to be checked, especially the filters or when the air conditioner freezing up.  If you don’t know how to do it on your own, you can just hire an HVAC professional  

Yearly Chores 

There are chores that need to be done yearly, they are the following:  

  • Shampoo the carpet – you can have the carpet cleaned by the professional so the embedded dirt are removed 
  • Clean garage – declutter the garage to free up some space 
  • Winterize the house – to prepare it for the cold nights and days during winter season
